Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif announced a new three-year electricity relief package, “Roshan Maeeshat Electricity Package”, aimed at boosting Pakistan’s industrial and agricultural sectors.
The package, unveiled during a meeting with sector experts and representatives of the business community, will run from November 2025 to October 2028.
Under the plan, industries and farmers will receive additional electricity at a concessionary rate of Rs. 22.98 per unit. The Prime Minister said this represents a substantial reduction from current unit charges of Rs. 34 for industry and Rs. 38 for agriculture.
“The burden of the electricity supplied under this package will not be borne by household consumers or any other sector,” the premier said, praising Energy Minister Sardar Awais Leghari and his team for their work in preparing the package.
